About this game

Whispers of a Machine is a Sci-Fi Nordic Noir that tells the story of Vera, a cybernetically augmented special agent tasked with investigating a string of murders. These brutal killings obscure a sinister truth, as Vera soon finds ties to a group of fanatics committed to creating an AI superintelligence — a pursuit outlawed for nearly a century.

Complicating things, a great loss from Vera's past comes back to haunt her, making her question her own sanity and everything she stands for.

As an agent of the Central Bureau, Vera is equipped with an advanced nano-substance called Blue. This rare and sought-after technology allows her to develop superhuman abilities adapted to her psychological mindset.

Choose your playstyle and utilize these augmentations to investigate, gather information, and solve puzzles with multiple solutions.

Will Vera’s unique blend of skills and intuition be enough to solve the case, or will she discover that things are more ambiguous than they seemed? In this emotionally gripping story with existential twists and multiple endings, Vera's actions will have monumental consequences not only for herself, but for all of humanity...

If you've played story-driven, retro-style point- n-click games before then you'll know what to expect from this game. The puzzles are mostly easy, but there a couple difficult ones sprinkled in. The story is fairly cookie-cutter for anyone who plays these games a lot, but it was still very engaging. The only downside was pacing, with the climax being a bit disappointing. Overall, I'd highly recommend this game. I enjoyed playing it, and it was worth every penny of the 5 dollars I paid for it.

I've played this game through twice and am re-downloading it onto my new phone to see how a better phone screen enhances the (already amazing) graphics. The atmosphere, the music, the cool augs, the interesting plot, and the character of Vera Englund make me wish for even more stories to take place in this Nordic sci-fi world... but in the meantime, I'll go back and wander around this game some more.

A full fledged 90s point-and-click? You better believe it. If there's anything I love about mobile gaming, it's that modern phones are the perfect medium to preserve and promote the genre. A couple of the puzzles are appropriately maddening, but if you told me this game really came out in '93, it would be completely believable. Please keep publishing guys, I promise I'll buy every last game you release.
