Ratings and reviews

I'm pretty early in my Japanese learning journey, less than a week in, but Renshuu has been enjoyable so far. Just learning Hiragana and Katakana currently, but the mnemonic devices have all been really helpful, and they appear to be uploaded and voted on by users, meaning the most useful ones appear for each word. Overall positive experience so far!

honestly, better than Duolingo. you learn Kanji as you learn words, so you get used to reading it. not to mention, there are games you can play to reinforce your vocabulary that are actually fun (unlike most edutainment)! i recommend at the very least giving it a try if you want to learn Japanese, and you can set your current skill level right from the start.

Sets out to be exactly what it says and teaches you Japanese. You can learn at your own pace but not overdo it either, and the community interaction makes it feel like a big group effort. Everyday I do the focused review and even though learning has been slow, it's been rewarding and this is the most I've learned compared to other apps, (and it's free!) I highly recommend for anyone looking for straightforward, no bs Japanese learning.
