Played Merchant for years. Simplistic and intuitive. Great for killing time and/or grinding hours of enjoyment. This game though, just doesn't do it. Took away all the simplistic controls and layouts and turned Merchant into something completely different. I liked having all the options shown in tabs at the bottom. I don't care to search the screen for what I'm looking for. I liked being able to craft stacks. This just took the fun and spirit away from the original.

As a seasoned merchant player, I was super excited to see an online version released! I've played the beta and I am currently playing the regular game and it's pretty fun! The pacing might seem a touch slow right now, but I'm sure that will increase as we get more lands. The only hard part is keeping a guild together. Without a guild there is very little progress to be made. Most players play for a day or a week and then move on. I suppose that's a grind. But, I still greatly enjoy this game.

Good in concept and the gameplay loop is fun, but the progression is problematic. Having everything locked behind guild progression is a fun idea, but also means that one active player leaving the game can keep an entire guild from progressing. Despite the game being centered on guilds, there is nothing to incentive loyalty, and the game basically forces all players with high contribution into the same 15 guilds, leaving the rest struggling to even stay at the same level, let one catch up
