About The Times of Israel

The Times of Israel is a Jerusalem-based online newspaper founded in 2012 to document developments in Israel, the Middle East and around the Jewish world.

It was established by veteran UK-born, Israeli journalist David Horovitz and his US-based capital partner Seth Klarman. Horovitz is the founding editor, responsible for the site’s editorial content.

The Times of Israel has no partisan political affiliation. It seeks to present the news fair-mindedly and offers a wide range of analysis and opinion pieces.

Can't believe that this excellent exclusively online news source has such a bad app!! It frequently stops working, requiring deletion of its stored data - a rookie programming error. The app requires a debug, less obtrusive ads and a widget. They want paid subscribers - fix this and you may gain some! The content between the ads is good, well written, informed, informative and thoughtful journalism. Their podcast is also great journalism, although with repetitive ads and poor hosting.

App is now completely useless. Instead of just popping up an ad that you can click out of when you go to read an article, it pops up an add on the home feed. The problem with this is that when you try to click out of the ad, it goes to a "web page not available" broken link for the ad instead of letting you go to the article. It makes the app unusable. This is very unfortunate as I trust TOI as a news source and defer as often as possible to their journalism.

The "Daily Briefing" which is an English news segment available from the previous day is excellent. The AP however, is not. Maybe it is my Android, but if I don't touch it, the AP keeps stopping, intermittently. I do pay for a subscription and this is really unacceptable.
