New review, its a great app for backups of phone calls and sms. But in today's age where we are losing our privacy rapidly. Is there a way to do a backup on USB only so a person can keep their info off line and not depend on cloud services? Since now cops are yanking the files off the cloud without permission. Would be nice to have a passworded & encrypted backup on USB thumbdrive or USB connected SSD from phone, like Samsung does with their phones. So ppl can keep their privacy data. Thanks.

Yes, you can totally do a local backup on the phone. If the USB drive is visible to Android, you can select it from the app and store backups there. Menu - Settings - Backup location - Local backup folder - Browse and select the folder on the USB Drive.

I switched from one (old) LG phone to another, and LG's switching app made a mess of all the texts. My first try with this app didn't fare any better. But this app's support page advised me to delete all the texts off the newer phone, and then restore via this app again. Everything looks perfect now, including all the images, gifs, emojis etc. from older messages. I don't know whether I needed to pay for the pro version, but it was money well spent.

This app works great, but recently it gets stuck a lot of times when uploading to Google Drive. I have a huge amount of texts to backup, so I don't know if that's the issue, but it gets stuck a lot of times recently. I am going to try using another account like One Drive and see if that works better. I frequently have to restart my phone to get the app to finish uploading my backup, though. And it's using a lot of battery from getting hung up. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
