Well, none of the issues are issues to me, like the ones everyone else talks about are easy to get around. But for whatever reason, if I turn my Roku off, it refuses to reconnect to the app, which makes it impossible to work considering I don't have a romote, so yeah, the app doesn't work half the time is basically what I'm saying. When it does work though, it's great!
Bout to cut my cable off and just use roku. It's cheaper and works every where. Plus no more coaxial cables running through the house. TV can be placed any where in the room now with worries. And the app works great on my phone. No more finding the remote!
I love this app. It's probably my most used app. I miss 2 features that have disappeared. 1) Voice control 2) Being able to use my keyboard to type into channels like YouTube, rather than having the arrow to each letter individually.
Our dog chewed up the remote last year. Since then, I've come to discover the app and use it on a daily basis. It IS handy but contains a huge flaw: you cannot turn on the TV with the app itself. A HUGE deal breaker for me. What's the point of it if I have to reach around the back of my TV, manually switch it on, and wait for it to start up before I can use the app? Defeats the purpose of an "online remote" if I can't use one of the main features of it. A bummer.
App stopped working after a over night update to the roku3. And no response from their support. Plus with the roku it's all about up selling more content then it is about the quality of the content being offered.
So the app does not work in private listening mode. Controls are clunky and slow to respond. Uninstall/reinstall did not work.
