About this app

Never miss the northern lights again.

RORA tells you the chance of seeing the aurora from where you are, right now and for the next nights. It combines live NOAA space weather with your local cloud forecast and the darkness of your sky, so the number answers one question: can I see it tonight?

TONIGHT, IN ONE NUMBER
• Your aurora chance right now, or the best time tonight
• Kp index, cloud cover, and when it gets dark
• The best window, hour by hour through the night
• The best chance for each of the next three nights
• Live solar wind: Bz, speed and density, the early sign of a storm

AURORA ALERTS
• A notification when your chance passes the level you set
• Only when skies are clear, only after dark — you choose
• Quiet hours, and never more than one alert a night
• Up to five saved places, each with its own alerts
• Follow a storm night live in your notifications until dawn

HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
• Tonight's chance on your home screen, and the night hour by hour
• Add one straight from the app

ANY PLACE ON EARTH
• Use your location, or search any city
• Plan a trip with the 27-night outlook for Norway, Iceland, Finland, Canada or Alaska
• Works for the southern lights too
• Share tonight's forecast as an image
• Photo tips for your phone and your camera

No account needed. Your place and settings stay on your phone.

FREE FORECAST AND RORA PRO
Checking tonight's forecast is free, and so is the small widget. RORA Pro adds aurora alerts, saved places, live solar wind, the full 27-night outlook, live storm nights, and the hour-by-hour widget.

RORA Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, weekly or yearly, billed through Google Play. The yearly plan can start with a free trial, shown in the app before you buy. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
