I'm quite surprised at so much negativity towards the app and the Rover service. As a very active provider, I use the app, the site, and customer service support all of the time. First, the app is quite robust. I can easily manage my availability, check my pending pay and what has been deposited in my PayPal account, as well as make adjustments to my profile. I've been a provider for several months and from almost day one began getting calls. I have done little self marketing but certainly the business cards and a shirt for when you're walking dogs is a good thing. I'm paid promptly 48hrs after the stay has completed and almost on a daily basis I have a lovely email greeting me in the morning notifying me that I have money in my PayPal account which then I have to wait 1 business day for the deposit to be received by my bank. Whenever I had any issues, I've called the support line and never had a long wait to speak with a friendly person. My problems were always resolved. Word of mouth is the best advertising and I do a lot of that. Plus I ALWAYS ask for a positive review which brings in more business. My advice to people who are starting out is to read the tips for increasing your search rankings. When I search to see where I fall I'm at #1 or #2 depending on the service. My one complaint is the store's shipping fee. I can't justify ordering something and paying almost the same amount in shipping. Just doesn't make sense to me.
This app sucks. Just use the website. The app is missing a lot of features, settings and capabilities of the main website. I don't think it's worth it at all.
I personally haven't had any luck with this app and I've had it for about 3 months. I followed all tips to increase customers, but I haven't had 1 customer. I even had a representative look at my profile to make sure it was active and they said my profile looked great! My sister and her friends in San Diego had great luck with it, but not me in Michigan, so maybe it's a regional thing
Don't appreciate the app demanding I update it while I'm in the middle of a walk. The battery and data usage is already bad enough but I shouldn't be forced to update while I'm in the middle of a walk with no wifi and a low battery. Lots of other fixes need to be made like being able to cancel a walk if you accidentally start one.
Forced update, again. Then app disappeared. Did Microsoft developers get hired? Now can't see info about dogs by tapping the paw. Must tap i. To archive i then folder. Lets you see who is booked, who wants to book, past clients/ payments, pending payments. Click around to find things. App used be more informative up front. Ugly screen where dog pic/ info used to be. Clients enjoy pics & comments, some prefer none, but must do anyway or messes your ratings. Client can see how long it took you to reply, % got pics, reviews, # repeat clients/ stays. Used to have customizable notification sound, now same as every other notice
I am appalled at some of the sitters they allow to stay on this site after the lack of common safety knowledge was displayed with my pets. Had a1 dangerous scenario occur. The sitter is allowed to continue. There needs to be a report system before stays too. I got put in a tough spot thanks to the ppl i dealt with. Finally found a good sitter on the 4th try.
Bug fixes: No one likes fleas
Decision version of the Rover used car search app! Since Rover only can search hassle to specify the manufacturer name does not have any.
Sittercity’s app is the easiest way to find your family’s next favorite sitter
