A charming tile-laying puzzle game. Make the best valley you can out of the tiles and placements you're given.

Puzzles with no randomness can become a bit boring over time. And when it is too random, it can feel unfair. Square Valley sits nicely in the middle where you are challenged for each level, but it still feels fair in the end. Satisfying. Every level is comprised of a fixed set of tiles that come together to form a challenge each step of the way. You're continually cycling through your deck of tiles – always a fresh look. You're also limited to only certain spots on the board where you can place the tiles all in order to reach the highest score you can.

A windmill wants the surrounding wheat fields, forests have winding rivers through them, and churches stand firm within the city walls packed with houses.

Not to worry, you won't get stuck. There's generous room to succeed at every level. Leaderboards are there too, for those who want to keep challenging themselves. Feel free to push forward, or go back to previous levels and beat your old self.

When you complete that last turn, you'll find yourself with a unique little village to be proud of.

I never leave reviews but this has been my favorite game for literally years. The new updates are great and have helped me finally understand the mechanics of some of the trickier tiles. As someone who gets bored easily, the replayability of this game is phenomenal for the price, especially with the daily challenges, but even just with the randomization of tile choice and placement. Each level is unique even if you've played it 100 times. I hope someday they add another chapter with new levels!

This is a great tile placement and point optimization game with a nice aesthetic of building a small village. At only $1.99, there are also no ads or IAPs, only fun to be had—rare for the mobile game market. If you like puzzles, strategy and—to some extent—city builders, then you should give it a chance. It's a fantastic game, well above the worth of its pricetag.

Wonderful! I love the strategy involved, and it's fun to see what kind of town you've built at the end. There are many different tiles to work with, and on top of that there are 3 different environments to play in with different twists. This game would've probably been a hit on the Nintendo DS back in the day. The music is really lovely as well, if a bit melancholy at times. The graphics are clean and simple and charming. One of the best purchases I've made on the app store.
