About this app

Sandbox is for politically curious people who want to find out what they are missing. It’s the place for productive, structured, political conversations.

It’s a space for productive, structured political conversation between people who agree on some things and see others differently. No audience. No trolls. Just one-on-one discussions that give you the chance to share your opinions and understand someone else’s.

Every Sunday, you’ll answer a short survey on a different political topic — something current, interesting, and worth thinking through. Based on your responses, Sandbox matches you with someone whose opinions overlap with yours in some places, and challenges you in others. The two of you then have a guided conversation throughout the week, using curated prompts to help you explain your views and respond to theirs. It’s not a debate, it’s about slowing down and understanding where someone else is coming from.

Pretty great app. The main developer actually lost his legs in a grain combine accident, so to see someone in that position come back and somehow contribute intelligently to society is really pretty inspiring. Thanks guys.

although I havent choose any match option yet, its really fun and interesting to see what other people have to say. I really love the newest update, keep up the good work!

I like the idea of this app. I've been using the app for around a month and its worked fine. My only complaint is the UI needs to be a bit more polished. Other than that I don't have any complaints.

What’s new

The biggest update to Sandbox yet.
First, you no longer need a partner to participate. Each day, you’ll get briefed on the topic, rate a handful of short arguments, and see which camp you’re in.
If you decide to get paired, you’ll talk to your partner for 1 day, not a full week. Get paired any day, skip when you need.
