About this app

Find the correct satellite direction and align your TV dish with confidence.

Satellite Finder is a practical dish alignment tool that calculates the azimuth, elevation and LNB skew required for your location and selected satellite. Use GPS, a compass, a map and augmented reality guidance to identify where your satellite dish should point.

Whether you are installing a new dish, checking an existing setup or looking for a clearer line of sight, the app gives you the essential dish pointing information in one place.

SATELLITE DISH ALIGNMENT

Select a satellite and instantly calculate:

• Azimuth — the horizontal direction of the satellite
• Elevation — the vertical dish angle
• LNB skew — the recommended LNB rotation
• Satellite position and orbital longitude
• Direction from your current location

COMPASS AND DISH POINTER

Use the built-in satellite compass to follow the required direction. The dish pointer helps you turn toward the target satellite and compare the current phone heading with the calculated azimuth.

AR SATELLITE VIEW

Open the camera view to visualise the approximate satellite position in the sky. AR guidance can also help identify possible obstacles such as trees, walls or buildings before installing the dish.

MAP AND GPS LOCATION

Satellite Finder can detect your position using GPS or let you enter coordinates manually. View the satellite direction on a map and choose a suitable installation location.

POPULAR SATELLITES

The satellite database may include commonly used North American satellites such as:

• Galaxy 13, Galaxy 14, Galaxy 15, Galaxy 17 and Galaxy 19
• EchoStar 10, EchoStar 14, EchoStar 16 and EchoStar 18
• SES 1, SES 2 and SES 3
• AMC 10, AMC 11, AMC 15 and AMC 18
• Anik F1, Anik F2 and Anik F3
• Nimiq 4, Nimiq 5 and Nimiq 6
• Intelsat and Telstar satellites

Availability depends on the satellite database included in the app and your geographic location.

USE SATELLITE FINDER TO

• Install or realign a satellite TV dish
• Find the correct satellite direction
• Calculate azimuth and elevation
• Adjust LNB skew and dish rotation
• Check the line of sight before installation
• Locate satellites using GPS and a map
• Use a compass as a satellite dish pointer
• View satellite positions with AR guidance

ACCURACY NOTICE

Satellite calculations are based on your selected location and satellite orbital position. Compass accuracy depends on the sensors in your Android device and nearby magnetic interference.

For better results, calibrate your compass and keep the phone away from the dish, metal mounts, electrical equipment and other magnetic objects.

Satellite Finder is an independent alignment utility. It does not provide television channels, unlock encrypted broadcasts or measure the actual signal strength received by your satellite receiver.
