This app used to be great with an AI that would calculate the odds of a skin growth being malignant. That was too convenient, so now they want you to pay $35 for one of their "doctors" to diagnose you. What a waste of good technology - and our time. I would've been willing to pay a fee to get to the next level of diagnosis, but not for an initial scan - a scan that is somewhat blurry I might add. So you can keep your app, I'm going to see a regular dermatologist in person I guess.

I was able to get a dermatologist's opionion on a lesion within minutes of submission. My initial image was not clear enough and rather than just move on with a poor diagnosis, the doctor asked for a clearer image several time, so they actually take the time to review your image. I wouldn't give the free ai scanner in this app much weight, it showed my lesion as unconcering, but once I paid for a submission it was considered concerning. I ended up needing a biopsy, which came back benign.

This used to be a helpful app that utilized AI for the initial scan at no charge, which was great since most individuals concerns are usually benign (overall - statistically). If the initial free scan revealed a concern, then the app offered you an option to pay for a more in depth analysis from an actual dermatologist. Now you must pay a fee upfront, for a review from a Dr that will - most likely - be unnecessary. Greed can ruin so many great things...

Evolving regulatory changes require extensive processes and investment for AI medical features, not always financially viable for a free tool. We kept it free as long as possible. Professional dermatologist consultations remain available and we're working on future solutions to keep helping our users.
