About this app

Read the ebooks and listen to the audiobooks you've added to your Library at Scribl.com, including all paid and free books. Please be aware: You CANNOT create an account or add books through the app. The app is only a player for your account on Scribl.com, which you must create via your web browser.

Before you try the app, you can see what's in your Library on Scribl.com in your web browser. Just hit your account button at the upper right of https://www.scribl.com, and select "My Library" (or just go to https://www.scribl.com/library). This app intends to provide the optimum reading and listening experience for the books you see there.

The latest update added e-reader support, including light and dark mode and a speed-reading function. The e-reader feature is still in beta. It's entirely safe to use, but there may still be some books with formatting issues in the app. Please use the Contact Support option under Settings to let us know if you have issues with any of the books. We'll either correct the book so it works for you and everyone else, incorporate the fix into an upcoming app update, or both.

This update should also fix a problem encountered by some users, especially Pixel devices, where the audio would stop when changing apps or the screen locked.

All paid titles feature Scribl's CrowdPricing ($CP), where prices are set by fans and even the highest prices are a great deal. It's the fairest pricing on the Internet. If you're looking for self-published books or audiobooks, Scribl has you covered.

Use Story Elements at Scribl.com to find the fiction or true stories you'll love. Search by Elements that define the main character, like gender or religion. Search by Elements that define the setting, like time period, or use of magic or technology. Search by Elements that define the mood of the book, like mystery, humor, and romance. Combine these in any way you want to define your own genres and view only the books that match your preferences.

LIMITATIONS AND KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE CURRENT VERSION
It is not currently possible to purchase books or augment your Library through the app. This is a temporary limitation. We plan to bring this and other capabilities of the web site into the app over time.

The e-reader may jump back to the beginning of the book or chapter if you changed viewing modes (scrolling, page-by-page, speed reading). We will address this in an upcoming update.

Ratings and reviews

Damnit!! I left Podiobooks several years ago because it became a bit cumbersome. I was a big listener and always paid for the books I liked. I just tried to restart my love affair, but sadly the new APP is the least usable and stupidly designed app I have seen. Come on people! There are smart people in there somewhere I'm sure. Get your s%/t together and pretend you care, or have ever seen an app anywhere! I want to come back, I really do! And spend my money! There are other options available.

The constant pausing is annoying. I like listening to the books, but when this app isn't on my screen the audio stops playing while the run time continues. I feel like the devs haven't done a very good job with the QA aspect of the app. Otherwise I like the books available.

I can't download books from online using MS Edge. Keeps me pushing every single filter over and over, won't work when I click next. Therefore, since I can't go further the website and app have been a waste of twenty minutes. Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit.
