🔒 PERMISSIONS & HOW SENTINELKIDS USES THEM
SentinelKids uses certain Android features to provide parental-control protection. All of these are enabled with the parent or guardian's authorization during setup:

Accessibility Service: Used — with the parent or guardian's authorization — to deliver SentinelKids' core child-safety features:
• Enforcing parent-set app blocks and screen-time limits by detecting which app is currently open.
• Reading on-screen content and browser web addresses (URLs) to filter and block harmful or inappropriate websites and content in real time.
• Displaying screen-time reminders and safety alerts.
• Tamper protection — preventing a child from disabling monitoring, uninstalling the app, or changing protected settings without parental approval.
The Accessibility Service is used only for these child-safety purposes and for no other reason.

VPN Service: SentinelKids creates a local, on-device VPN connection to filter web and app traffic and block inappropriate content. This VPN runs only on the device for content filtering; it does not route activity through an external server for any other purpose, and it does not redirect or manipulate traffic for advertising.

Location: With parental setup, the app shares the child device's location (including in the background) with the linked parent's device only, so a parent or guardian can see where the child is. Location is not used for advertising.

This app works together with the SentinelKids Parent App. Both apps must be installed and paired for full functionality.
