Text Grab turns a photo into words you can copy, fix and find again, without the photo ever leaving your phone.

GRAB THE WORDS
• Point the camera at a page, label, whiteboard or screen, or pick a photo from your gallery
• Open a PDF and grab the text from its first page
• Recognition runs on the device with Google's ML Kit (Latin script, tuned for English and Afrikaans); no upload, no waiting

FIX, COPY, SHARE
• Correct a word the camera got wrong before you save
• Copy the whole grab or share it to any app with the normal share sheet
• Every grab is saved with its date so last week's recipe or serial number is one search away

A LIBRARY YOU CAN SEARCH
• Home lists every grab you kept; type a word and the list narrows instantly
• Everything is searched on the device: your grabs, your photos and your words stay here

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
• No account, no cloud, no sign-in: everything is stored in a local database
• Export a JSON backup to your Documents folder and import it on a new phone
• Works fully offline

The free app shows a small banner on the home screen and an occasional full-screen advert, plus a catalogue of our other local-first apps. These requests carry no personal data and nothing about your photos or grabbed text.

Text Grab does not translate, parse receipts, read handwriting-only pages, sync to the cloud or walk every page of a long PDF. It grabs words from a picture and keeps them where you can find them.
