I really enjoy the app so far, very clean and simple user interface. The dev seems to read comments, so hopefully this gets seen: the ">" character for block quotes in markdown does not seem to be correctly rendered in comments. It is italicized, but not formatted in any other way. Normally markdown renderers I see will parse out the character and put it in a box or similar.

The reason for this is that HN delivers comments as HTML instead of markdown and doesn't use the tag for blockquotes. Since comments on the HN website are rendered with a '>' and no additional standard blockquote styling I think the app is going to stick to that same convention.

As far as looks, this is the best HN client. It has a very clean minimal look. It does have some limitations though, some of them likely made to account for that fact. For instance, you cannot search and sort results by most recent - which reduces it's usefulness (especially when search returns results from 7~ years ago). Another is when writing very long comments, the end of the reply is behind the keyboard so you cannot see what you're typing. Still, this is my preferred client.

What’s new

Version 3.0 is the most significant update to Harmonic ever. The headline feature is a new design (which can be toggled off for those that don't like change) but a lot of work has gone into stability, speed and general polish. Check the full changelog in the about section if you are interested in details.
