Makeup try on for your own photo: take a selfie or choose a picture, then try lipstick, blush, eyeshadow and eyeliner shades on it as colour layers. Shade Try adds colour and nothing else, so the face in your photo keeps its own shape.
▶ YOUR FACE STAYS YOUR FACE
• Only colour is added. Nothing smooths, slims or reshapes your face, and there is no beauty filter you need to look for and switch off.
• Colour is drawn only on the lips, cheeks, eyelids and lash line. The rest of the photo is left as it was.
• Open lips and teeth stay uncoloured, and eyeshadow and liner never paint over the eyes themselves.
• Before / After split: drag the line across your face to see the original next to the made-up version.
▶ KEEP AND EXPORT WHAT YOU MAKE
• Save a look on your phone and open it again later. Every layer stays editable: shade, intensity, finish and touch-ups.
• Make several looks on the same photo. When you change a saved look, choose Update this look or Save as a new look.
• Export a look as a PNG image at your photo's own resolution (up to 2048 pixels on the long side) and share it wherever you choose.
▶ FOUR PRODUCTS, 34 SHADES
• Lips: 12 shades, from three nudes to wine, with a Sheer or Full finish.
• Blush: 8 shades. Eyeshadow: 10 shades. Liner: 4 shades, as a Line or a Wing.
• An intensity slider for each product, shown as a percentage.
• Custom shade: set hue, saturation and brightness, or type a colour code such as #A05A5E.
▶ TOUCH-UP AND COMPARE
• Touch-up brush: add or erase colour by hand in three brush sizes, with up to 50 undo steps.
• Pinch to zoom up to 5× and drag to move around while you work.
• Compare up to 4 saved looks of the same photo in a 2 × 2 grid, tap one to edit it, or export the grid as one image.
• Two faces in one photo? Switch between them with one tap.
▶ GOOD TO KNOW
• Shade Try works on still photos that you take or choose.
• Shade names such as Brick, Rosewood or Nude 1 describe the colour. They are not specific products.
• Use a well-lit photo looking at the camera. If the face is turned, the app tells you placement may be less accurate.
• Photos need to be at least 480 × 360 pixels. Up to two faces per photo are found.
• Face points are found on your phone and the app does not upload your photos. Saved looks keep a copy of the photo on your phone until you delete them, and Settings can delete all looks and photos at once.
• Export opens the share sheet, so you pick where the image goes. There is no separate button for the gallery.
• Ads appear on the Looks list, never in the editor or in Compare.
