Ratings and reviews

Afrikaans is the easiest language to learn for English speakers, but it is a small language and is unfortunately lacking in resources. Ling is the 2nd best Afrikaans app I could find, Mondly is better. Unfortunately, it never gets more difficult, so it will only expand your vocabulary and a little grammer (but without explaining anything). Also the final chapter has no voice lines, so it is impossible to complete! Nowhere near the quality of Duolingo of Busuu but those apps don't have Afrikaans.

This app has an amazing interface and has really been helping me learn Afrikaans quite fast and efficiently! If I had just one complaint, it would be that the speaking feature isn't quite up to par; when the app prompts me to speak, most of the time it only catches a single syllable of what I say and grades me according to that. Otherwise, this is a fantastic app to learn with!

I was actually quite liking the app as actual afrikaans speakers and dialogue was used, however you get a very limited and basic lessons for free anf thr rest you have to pay a membership for which is actually ridiculously expensive considering that its probably majority students who want to use the app
