SiteRescue — Emergency Website Backup
When your site is hacked, broken, or at risk, SiteRescue gives you a fast and
secure way to back up everything — even from a partially compromised server.
WHAT IT DOES
Connect to your web server via SFTP or FTP and create a complete backup of your
site: files, database, or both — packaged into a single ZIP archive and saved
directly to your device or cloud storage.
SUPPORTED CMS
• WordPress
• Joomla
• Drupal
• PrestaShop
• Magento
• Any website without a CMS
Automatic CMS detection reads the configuration file to extract database
credentials — no manual input required.
BACKUP TYPES
• Full backup — files + database
• Files only
• Database only
DATABASE EXPORT — NO PUBLIC ACCESS REQUIRED
SiteRescue can export your database even if your server is not reachable from
the internet. The database backup works entirely through your existing SFTP or
FTP connection — no open MySQL port, no VPN, no firewall changes needed.
BEYOND WEBSITES
Thanks to its flexibility, SiteRescue is not limited to web servers. You can
use it to back up any remote directory via SFTP or FTP, or to export any MySQL
or MariaDB database — regardless of whether it belongs to a website. If you
have SFTP or FTP access to a server, SiteRescue can back it up.
FAST BACKUP ENGINE
SiteRescue uses a dual-mode compression engine that automatically selects the
fastest method available on your server. Files that are already compressed
(images, videos, PDFs, ZIP archives) are stored without recompression — keeping
CPU usage low and backup time short. Caches, node_modules, and log directories
are automatically excluded, saving 30–50% of archive size.
SAVE DESTINATIONS
• Local storage (Downloads/SiteRescue/)
• Google Drive
• OneDrive
• iCloud (iOS only)
• Local + Google Drive
• Local + OneDrive
• Local + iCloud (iOS only)
BUILT TO SURVIVE INTERRUPTIONS
Long backups can be interrupted by network drops, screen-off events, or the app
going to background. SiteRescue handles all of these:
• Wake lock keeps the screen on during the backup
• Android Foreground Service keeps the process alive in background with a
persistent notification showing real-time progress
• Automatic reconnection resumes the operation if the connection drops at any
point during the backup
• Resumable HTTP download — if the connection breaks mid-download, the retry
picks up from the last byte written
SECURITY FIRST
• SFTP preferred over FTP
• Private key authentication (PEM) with optional passphrase, validated before
opening the connection
• No credentials stored in plain text — AES-256 on Android, Keychain on iOS
• Backup files are never publicly exposed — download is always authenticated
• Temporary server files use random names and are automatically deleted after
every operation, even after a crash or forced stop
BUILT FOR EMERGENCIES
No scheduled backups, no background processes — SiteRescue is a manual,
on-demand tool designed for the moment things go wrong. Keep your screen on,
run the backup, and get your data safe.
