Much better than before and way better then the Skype app for win phone. No wonder everyone left Windows phone when even ms couldn't be bothered to write descent apps. Any way, Skype is now usable again. It's pretty quick, video is pretty good and plenty of features. However I still find address book a bit of a mess. More work to be done.
I have couple of questions. Do you know where are the setting where I can configure something. When calling some one on mobile, search work on searching by number and not by name. Who was the great designer of the app. Please ask him to come to 2018 rather than staying I don't know where may be 1995,ina the era of Windows 95 :(
Very badly written app. Skype en gineers have forgotten all their coding skills after Microsoft acquired it. God knows which idot in Microsoft decided to use React native instead of developing using Android native components. Learn from WhatsApp & other messenger apps. I hope my comments will wake up idiots in Microsoft who took this bad decision.
Skype is great but the notification sound for messages is so quiet, I miss messages half of the time. There's also a significant lag after just a few minutes of messaging, the active status of users is not as accurate and it has a hard time reconnecting when on the phone. However, to me, those cons are bearable (except the quiet notification so please fix it) and the layout is pleasing to the eyes. There's an app that does it better but if you have to use Skype, it'll suffice.
Skype has become utterly unusable both on desktops and Android. Every time I get a notification on Skype Android, my whatsapp call gets switched from Bluetooth to Loudspeaker. But, that's not the main problem. The app is laggy and it does not always sync the messages in time. Sometimes it takes a while for messages to appear on mobile while it's fine on desktop and vice versa. It's a mess. Just like Windows, Microsoft has ruined Skype, too.
The old skype before microft messed it up was way better. People without microsoft account cant get into their accounts, its hard to know how called and who is on line. I continue to use it just because my old parents are used to it. However I do not update their systems. Terrible!
We're listening to your feedback and working hard to improve Skype. Here's what's new:
- Improved audio control - easily switch between your earpiece, speaker, wired or Bluetooth device during a call.
