Access Permissions:
All permissions are optional and require consent (you can continue using Skype without granting these permissions, but certain features may not be available).

• Contacts - Skype can sync and upload your device contacts to Microsoft's servers so that you can easily find and connect with your contacts that already use Skype.
• Microphone - The microphone is needed for people to hear you during audio or video calls or for you to record audio messages.
• Camera - The camera is needed for people to see you during video calls, or for you to be able to take photos or videos whilst you’re using Skype.
• Location - You can share your location with other users or use your location to help find relevant places near you.
• External Storage - Storage is needed to be able to store photos or to share your photos with others you may chat with.
• Notifications - Notifications allow users to know when messages or calls are received even when Skype is not actively used.
• Read Phone state - Access to phone state allows you to place a call on hold when a regular phone call is in progress.

Ratings and reviews

Half the time the voice messages will error when trying to load, and won't give a reason why. It shows an error icon but nothing else. And now we can't even download them, so how am I supposed to hear these important messages? Instead of adding silly bonus features like AI voice message summarizing or changing the speed of a voice message, please focus on first fixing the voice message so it can actually work in the first place. Thank you

I use Skype as my primary communication channel for my business. Always good and reliable for Desktop. The mobile phone Android version is good, but there is this black screen that appears when typing that covers/blocks most of the conversation and does not go away until a few attempts. The rest is pretty good and reliable.

A recent App or Android update has caused Skype to lose the mic when the app is out of focus - to include when the screen shuts off. Works fine on our old out dated Android devices, iPads & PCs. I've been using Skype daily for 15+ years. It has had a bug or two but is generally quite good. Easy 4-5 stars. It is currently very broken, and has been for a couple weeks. Fix it, or roll it back. Don't put the burden on us to try to side load an old version. Edit: Still broken 8.127.0.200 (1 Update)
