Define your time intervals (preparation, workout, pause) itself and showcase your custom workout together.

Connect your heart rate monitor device with the app and check your pulse (Bluetooth Smart, Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth 4.0, ANT+ or your Xiaomi Mi Band). In addition, maximum and average heart rate during the workout will be displayed. Your pulse values during workout are also recorded in the calendar. Optimal Training range per individual pulse zones adjustable. Alerts via sound or speech output for exceeding or falling of the target heart rate.

WIKI information:

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), also called high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE) or sprint interval training (SIT), is a form of interval training, an exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 4–30 minutes. These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition as well as improved glucose metabolism.[1] Compared with other regimens, HIIT may not be as effective for treating hyperlipidemia and obesity, or improving muscle and bone mass. Some researchers also note that HIIT requires "an extremely high level of subject motivation," and question whether the general population could safely or practically tolerate the extreme nature of the exercise regimen.

Metabolic effects:
HIIT significantly lowers insulin resistance compared to continuous training or control conditions and leads to modestly decreased fasting blood glucose levels and weight loss compared to those who do not undergo a physical activity intervention.

Pretty intuitive, fairly flexible, seems to work reliably so far. Finally figured out the volume setting, which will help a lot. Bought the pro version to create more timers. One feature I'd like is the ability to add more work segments to a cycle. I'd like to have, say, 20 secs "light work" 10 sec "hard work" 10 sec "relax" x 8 reps in each set, or variations on that idea. Also, the voice counter insists on saying "representative one of eight," "representative two," etc. Can't find why.

Update 20/03/18: I loved this app until it stopped connecting to my Polar H10 heart rate monitor. Now I can no longer see and track how my workout is affecting my heart rate. Dropping down to 2 stars. :( After seeing how well this app can be setup and programmed, I upgraded so I can save my own programs. I like the way the display gives me feedback, the way music works, everything. This is a great tool.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Customized timers, simple, adds a break between reps, clearly understood voice directions. I paid the premium price so I can add more timers. A small price to pay for a great app. I also appreciate that the vibrate feature is in sync with the actual timer. I tried three others before finding this app and they were all horrible in that area.
