SpineRead transforms your book club’s reading list into a warm, personal wooden bookshelf that lives right on your device. Instead of scrolling through plain lists, you browse a side view of three tactile shelves holding books in different stages of your group’s journey. The bottom navigation is a row of four delicate ribbon bookmarks tied to a small brass rod, giving you instant access to your Shelf, what you’re currently Reading, your Finished collection, and the Add screen. On the main Shelf, the top row holds your to-read books with burgundy ribbons, the middle shelf displays the book you’re reading now marked by a mustard ribbon, and the bottom shelf arranges your finished titles with olive green ribbons and tiny gold star seals. Tapping any spine flips open a bookmark-like detail card where you can view the title, author, genre, and status you entered. A long press lets you edit or remove a book, keeping your shared log accurate and up to date. The Reading tab zooms in on your active book and shows its ribbon fully extended, complete with a sliding amber bead so you can visually track your progress together. Switch to the Finished tab to admire the neat row of completed spines and check the engraved brass number plate that counts every book your club has finished. Adding a new title is effortless: the Add screen presents a large open blank book with gently sketched fields for title, author, reading status, and an optional genre, and a single tap on its cover ribbon saves the entry directly to the proper shelf. At any time, a small brass magnifying glass lets you search your entire collection by title or author so you can quickly find a specific book your club discussed. On the top shelf, three miniature antique alphabet blocks serve as your dashboard, deeply engraved with the total books, books currently reading, and books finished this month, while a gold-embossed “Add Book” plaque offers a convenient shortcut. Empty spaces on the shelves feature faint dust outlines and a single curled ribbon, so your library always feels lived-in without any instructional clutter. All your club’s books, progress, and notes are stored locally in a private database on your Android phone, meaning you never need an internet connection or an account to access your reading log. SpineRead is built for book club members, readers in multiple clubs, and anyone who wants a beautifully minimal, offline companion that feels like a real miniature library.
