StringTM Trip Manager

This app enables you to collect all the relevant information for a Total Mobility trip in New Zealand so it can be lodged with the council for subsidy payment.

The app collects location data to enable real-time trip tracking ONLY while the app is running and a trip is being conducted.

Our app uses a foreground service to continuously record the journey taken by a driver. This includes logging location data throughout the drive to generate a detailed route history. The foreground service starts when the driver begins a trip and stops when the journey ends. A persistent notification is shown to inform the user that journey recording is active. This functionality is essential to our core feature — accurately capturing driving routes — and cannot be reliably achieved without a foreground service, especially when the app is in the background.

Location data is only used for the details above and is never sold or shared other than with the relevant council as part of the subsidy claim.
You can disable location access anytime in your settings.
