• This app uses the Device Administrator permission when you turn on the App Protection feature.
• This app uses Accessibility services.
• The Wi-Fi Security feature of Sophos Intercept X for Mobile needs the location permission to get the name of the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to, even when the app is running in the background. The app doesn’t actually access or track your location.

Battery and data usage
• Malware definitions update once a day to keep you protected. This uses a small amount of data.
• The initial full scan of every installed app causes a one-time increase in battery usage.

I loved this app, it was especially useful for blocking unwanted calls, and the locate and recovery features added some nice peace of mind. unfortunately Google has forced them to reduce the app to little more than a well built antivirus. It's a great security app, it does its job quietly and efficiently. Providing a release with all the previous features outside of the play store would be awesome, but it doesn't seem likely.

Thank you for your rating and understanding. We are also very sorry that we were forced to remove those features. Thank you also for your proposal to provide an app variant with Loss&Theft and Call Blocking outside of the play store, which we will discuss. Your Sophos Mobile Team

It is really good, very smart concept, effective and easy to use. Loaded with features and ad-free! I have a few suggestions though. These are quality of life suggestions, so this is still a 5-star app. First, the app locking has a smart concept but isn't compatible with some apps. For example, apps that have a loading screen then pop up the actual app the app locker will prompt you at the loading screen, but then refresh when the app loads and prompt you twice and it looks sloppy. Second, have low-reputation apps scanning as a separate service to the scanner. That way adding the exceptions for using the low reputation apps (because they are apps I know and trust) doesn't leave any vulnerabilities on my device. Just my thoughts, keep up the good work! Oh, and the help page has no spaces between words, but it works lol

Always on the job. But is not intrusive and does not have a noticeable impact on my tablets performance. It does find threats, some I threw at it just to check. It updates without me even noticing and the configuration submenus are well organized and easy to use. Each choice is explained in easy to understand language. There could be a better one out there but it will be hard to beat this one. Try it!

Bug fixes
With this update, the app might prompt you to grant the "All files access" permission. This is due to a change in Android security policies. To stay protected, please grant this permission, which is required to detect malicious content on external storage.
