The IDV app lets you send information to UKVI without having to book a UKVCAS appointment. The IDV app verifies your identity and submits documents directly to UKVI.
Not everyone is eligible to use the IDV app.
Please wait for an email from UKVCAS inviting you to use the IDV app. You will not be able to log into the IDV app until you are invited to do so, and an error message may appear.

I received the invitation last night (the second mail from them after I paid all the fee, first mail was only saying I am eligible for the app). It was easy to download and all the documents I submitted before can be found through the app (no need to upload again)so that was a big help. There was slight glitch when taking photo, it said 'format is not correct'. I went to a different room to give another try then it worked! (Not sure why, lucky me). So far so good (fingers crossed).

Received email today that I'm now able to use the app. It worked very smoothly. No problems to report at all. Very simple step by step guidance. Same details were used to login as that of web-based version of UKVCAS. My documents were pre-uploaded. All I had to do was take selfies and image of travel document. All submitted successfully to UKVI. Awaiting result! Wish you all good luck!

Far more convenient than attending an appointment. No cost. I had originally uploaded and submitted my supporting .pdf documentation via the UKVCAS website and the app recognised and listed all my uploaded documents. So all that was left to do was the photos; portrait, liveliness video (a little fiddly), and travel doc (passport). Job done. In the lap of the Gods now. Good experience.
