About this app

SoundSteps is daily hearing practice for adults with cochlear implants and hearing aids, and the family members helping them. Do short auditory training exercises built around word pairs, sentences, conversations, and stories — then practice speech in noise by turning up real background sound step by step. It's listening practice that adapts to you: sharpen tricky sounds, track your progress, and follow conversations in noisy restaurants again.

Hearing devices bring sound back. Practice is how sound becomes understanding. Most people are sent home with a new hearing device and told to "just listen more." SoundSteps gives that practice a clear shape: a few minutes a day, one step at a time.

Noisy rooms are the hard part — so noise is never forced on you. When you're ready, add a little background sound and build up gradually. Speech-in-noise practice, at a level you control.

PRACTICE IN YOUR LANGUAGE
Practice is not English-only. Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Japanese and more — each with its own voices, not English audio with subtitles. Switch language any time in Settings.

FREE TO START
The listening check needs no account — open the app and practice. Your first week includes full access, with no card to start. After that, keep practicing free, or stay on Premium for the full library: all voices, stories, conversations, everyday scenes, and guided paths.

SoundSteps Premium is an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly). Payment is charged to your Google Play account. Your subscription renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Google Play subscription settings.
