About this app

Spellito helps parents and teachers turn weekly spelling lists into practice for children in Years 1 to 6. Children hear each word in a sentence, then type it, build it with letter tiles or write it by hand on paper.

FREE TEN-WORD PRACTICE
Basic ten-word sessions are free, with no account or child name needed. Choose a year group, listen and have a go. Use Spellito for extra practice alongside the spelling and phonics taught at school.

WEEKLY SPELLINGS FROM SCHOOL
With a Family Pass, add the weekly word list your child brings home from school, with example sentences read aloud. Your school does not need to use Spellito. Teachers with a Class Licence can set word lists for their confirmed class and follow digital practice in a private class dashboard. Family Pass and Class Licence are separate paid products.

TYPE, BUILD OR WRITE ON PAPER
Type spellings on screen or arrange letter tiles to build each word. For fixed word lists, choose Write on paper: the Teacher voice reads each numbered word, a sentence and the word again, with time to write by hand, like a spelling test at school. Pause, replay or adjust the extra writing time as needed. Check your answers yourself at the end; Spellito does not photograph or automatically mark handwriting. Paper practice does not save a score to family or class progress. Timed and endless rounds use typing or letter tiles.

WORDS FOR PRIMARY LEARNERS
Spellito draws on England's primary spelling curriculum, including KS1 common exception words and the Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 statutory spelling lists. Choose the year that suits your child. These are practice activities, not a diagnostic assessment or a complete teaching scheme.

FAMILY PASS
Some features require a paid Family Pass, a one-off in-app purchase that gives 12 months of access for up to five children. It does not renew automatically. It adds spelling buddies and hints, separate child profiles, private digital-practice progress, home word lists and practice using released KS2 SATs spelling papers. Family profiles are managed by a grown-up. Full SATs-paper practice is not part of basic free practice. Already have a Family Pass? Sign in with the same Spellito account.

MADE FOR PRACTICE
Spellito has no adverts. An easy-read font option is available in Settings. An internet connection is required. Spellito is an independent product from Wacky Works Digital, not an official DfE or government app. It supports practice alongside teaching and does not promise particular test results.
