[Story]
One day, a family running a monster ranch is invited by the kingdom and moves to the island of Malta. Young siblings Luca and Il, who dream of becoming monster masters, begin exploring the island as soon as they arrive.
Then, Prince Kameha of Malta and Warubou, the spirit of Malta, arrive. The mischievous Kameha, who even the island's inhabitants find troublesome, snatch the nut pie from the newcomers Luca and Il and flee into the castle.
Luca and Il pursue Kameha, and as they struggle for the pie, Kameha trips and falls, causing the "Navel of Malta," a statue vital to the island of Malta, to shatter into pieces!
Knowing that the island will sink to the bottom of the sea if this continues, the two are asked by Warubou to travel from Malta to another world connected by a "key" to find a replacement for the "Navel"...
Can they find a replacement for the "Navel" and save Malta's fate? The brother and sister, who possess the talent of monster masters, roam a vast and mysterious world!

◆Use the "key" to travel to another world!
In the land of Malta, there is a mysterious door that, when a "key" is inserted, allows you to warp to another world. The world you are transported to varies depending on the key used, and each world is inhabited by numerous monsters.
◆ Recruit monsters by "scouting" them!
When you encounter a monster, a battle begins! Defeating them earns you experience points, but you can also recruit them by using the "scout" command. Recruited monsters will fight alongside you, so actively recruit them!
◆ Create even stronger allies by "combining" monsters!
By "combining" two companion monsters, you can create new monsters. The resulting monsters vary greatly depending on the combination of the two parent monsters. Furthermore, the offspring inherits the abilities of its parents, making them incredibly powerful! Keep breeding to create your own ultimate party!

The number of monsters appearing has increased significantly since "DQM2: Il and Luca's Mysterious Key," released in 2014, reaching over 900 types! Monsters from various titles, including the latest main series title "Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age," have been added, so be sure to find your favorite monsters and add them to your team!
◆Easy training! Auto-battle & Easy Adventure
By enabling "Auto-battle" in the settings, battle results will be displayed immediately without any input when you engage in battle with monsters. Additionally, you can embark on an "Easy Adventure" at regular intervals, automatically exploring to the deepest floor of a designated dungeon. Of course, both methods yield experience points and gold, allowing you to efficiently train your companions!
◆ Super-enhance your monsters' abilities using "Crest Crystals"!
As you progress through the game, a certain character will give you an item called a "Crest Crystal." Using a Crest Crystal on your companion monster allows you to power up one of its abilities of your choice. Crest Crystals can be found in various locations, so keep strengthening your monsters' abilities and raise powerful monsters!
◆ New post-game content: "The Phantom Key"!
After clearing the entire story, you'll obtain the "Phantom Key," a key that opens a new door. The world of the Phantom Key has clearing conditions, and successfully clearing them may reward you with luxurious items and monsters! This is a high-difficulty challenge that even players who have fully explored this world can enjoy.
◆ Test your skills against other players' parties!
In the "Online Foreign Masters" mode, foreign masters are downloaded to a dedicated arena on a daily basis, allowing you to battle them.
*Communication mode is unlocked after progressing through the story to a certain extent.
