Overall, I like it. I played this on the NES back in the day. It was called Dragon Warrior then, I think. Was my first rpg and I was hooked. I've not played this through yet but it seems faithful to the story. I know the dialogue is updated and the sound track is remastered. The graphics are updated as well but it's not distracting until you look up the original. 4 stars instead of 5 because I'd love to see the option to toggle between updated and original features.

Love the updated graphics, sound and single hand controls but they absolutely ruined the game by dumbing down the difficulty so much. This was and still is one of the hardest, most unforgiving RPGs ever put out during the NES era and it can now easily be beaten. Wish they would have added a difficulty toggle in the vein of the usual Casual, Normal and Hard choices we see all the time nowadays.

First off, let me just say the touch controls work perfectly. Played through the whole game and at no point were they a hindrance. The game itself is a fun RPG. Didn't play the NES original so I can't speak to changes or refinements (although I think they may have renamed a few spells). They included a quick save option so you don't have to go back to the king to save every time. Relatively simple and not incredibly long, but a fun game all around (and you can't beat the price).
