The Japanese Version This is the Japanese version of DQ8- meaning no voice acting and orchestrated tracks. It is still as good as I remember if only a little lag on my Moto G. Able to take this on the go and save anywhere on the overworld is nice. The save state if you get calls is a really great feature ...and with cloud saves! Having an instant Alchemy Pot helps, too! Update: Now it runs better with less lag. One word: awesome!
Little Slow, No Controller Support For those who don't know the Dragon Quest series, it is a well-established RPG series dating back to the days of the NES, known then as "Dragon Warrior". This game is miles ahead of any other RPG currently on Android. - Price - The $20 price tag is there for a reason. If you're hesitant about the price, do a little research. This is a highly revered title from the days of the PlayStation 2, and plenty of reviews and footage are available for you to peruse. - No Controller Support - I understand tha
Cloud saves work again! Favorite JRPG ever! Please, add Moga Pro support for an easy 5🌟's! Having so many different things to do, I never completed VIII after spending +50 hours, which is why I paid $20 to play it again! It's well worth it.. There's more RPG elements than most square-enix games, plus there's cloud saves! The game doesn't run at a high FPS, but it's more than acceptable. Like others have mentioned...the portrait screen is alright with one hand controls, but wide screen with Moga support would make it even better.
Classic just waaay overpriced. This is a game worth £6-10 no more. I can get it cheaper on ps2... and get all the voice acting and fullscreen support included. Get ps2 version or emulate it... if none of these options are suitable then buy it. Just realise you are paying thru the nose at this price.
Cloud saves works again!!!! Running great and looks beautiful, however it has some flaws. Cloud saves are broken. I can't upload my save just as everyone else has mentioned. Controls are a little difficult, wish the joystick wasn't fixed in place. Overall a fun game. Update: Cloud saves works again!!!!!!
Lack of options... No landscape mode, no voice acting, an inferior version of the soundtrack, and no gamepad support. Typical half-***ed Squenix port.
This classic generation-spanning epic is available at last for portable devices!
