old school feel for those who enjoyed the older rpgs from nes and snes when it was harder than most other games. Too bad its linear mostly but it's still very enjoyable

Excellent stand alone FF release Graphics look good on my 10.1 TAB. Its just like old school final fantasy games, the jib system, questing grind is all back. Less repetative and more variety in monsters and items than the old games tho. A new rpg twist to an old style rpg.

Love it Really nice, creative storyline, and great character structural. It could be more involved with the fighting but over I give it 5 stars, for continually hit final fantasy all time high bar as one of the unforgettable experience.

LOVE this game, an original 2D rpg borrowing elements from Multiple Final Fantasy games. Would give it 5 stars but it still lacks gamepad support despite every other FF game previously suffering from the same issue yet all now seem to be optimized for it. So whats the HOLDUP SQUEENIX???

Needs cloud save and Nvidia Shield support No game will get higher than three stars until cloud save and Nvidia Shield support is added. Square needs to catch up, these options are available on the regular FF 3-6. Add both for a 5 star review.

A pale imitation of FF at the series' pinnacle. Weak plot, info dumps instead of character development, Hallway Fantasy (i.e. FF13) linearity, the grindiness of the FF3 & FF5 Job System, and trial and error Fusion Abilities are the defining features of this weak RPG from the former king of the genre.

Absolute It was beautiful, from start to finish, challenging, not too easy, not too hard, a very well made FF, a must have experience for anyone who knows and loves the FF universe.

Meh Huge FF fan from FF IX and earlier. The game is lengthy so you will get your $20 worth but the characters and plot will not live up to the same level of admiration, involvement, emotion, and complexity as the previous games. Its nice that they take us back to the 2D battles, though! (If youve never played Final Fantasy 6 yet, stop what you're doing and go get that instead. What an amazing game.)

It's a great FF, However... I don't like the fact when playing offline on occasion the message "Connection Lost Try again" will appear rendering it completely unplayable until connected to Wifi again. A MAJOR inconvenience if there's no nearby Wifi. A pity, considering that this is a great old school FF game.

True Review This edition of Final Fantasy is extremely well designed...for fun! It has all the elements of a classic FF game you'd ever want and also cameo type additions from other FF games: job classes, tough battles, great storyline and music, etc...and even though its in done in retro style, birds eye view and all, it' completely up to date! P.s. Get it!

Old school ish good & bad Very nice game. Not easy game as the rest are. Aside it being tablet touch. Nice music,art design. Controls takes time to get used to. As moving can get annoying. The WiFi online is a total negative. Wished it had new game +.

The New Old games I love the new spin square has taken on an old style rpg of 16 bit. Need more innovative games like this with an in depth skill system/battle system edit: this game needs a new game plus option after completion with the possibility of new/other dimensions and more jobs would be cool as well example : Blue mage(monster skill)

Just don't quit before it starting to fun It required me to pass lvl 45 and three Jobs mastered to enjoy to mixing of Job/Ability. I believed many people would find this game very dry on abilities and magics and quit beforehanded.

A classic FF made in the modern era It truly is a classic-style Final Fantasy title for the mobile platform. I've always been a fan of the games that use the job system,and this game manages to do it well without it feeling like a total ripoff of that of FFV (though it's still very reminiscent of it). I would highly recommend it to any fan of the old-school FF titles.

Galaxy s3 minor issue Problem during battles screen will turn black if the menu button to access auto fight is not highlighted bit of a problem for a boss battle because if your not fast enough you could be dead before you try to hit enemies like .... omega weapon ??? Over a month and still not fixed the issue .... fix it square enix !! We paid money for this Problems fixed thank you

Great game, good value Fantastic! To those complaining about price: I've never been able to put this much time into one of the $1-5 RPGs out there in the market, nor have I enjoyed one this much. The game plays much like Final Fantasy 5 for those into the classics. As a NES era gamer I'm pleased. The highlights here include the plot and game mechanics especially. The addition of fusion abilities makes it more fun to use multiple jobs on characters. I hope that Square Enix continues to bring us quality mobile content like this

Pretty good, but... Like the game, nostalgia sells it for me. But two things i'd like to see changed. An option to disable the turbo aspect of auto, and a better control scheme. I like auto because I'm lazy, bit I also like watching combat, especially if I may need to disable auto in a pinch. And walking about simply always feels clumsy

Very much a throwback to old school Final Fantasy. No where near as good as the stories in those classics, but the combat is fun and challenging, though it takes a while to adjust to the quick pace. Sometimes the text boxes are poorly formatted, so a word will start at the end of the box and continue at the beginning a row down, with not even a hyphen. Took me out of the story a bit, but it's not a total deal breaker.

My favorite app I haven't liked a lot of recent final fantasy games since 10 but this one is really good and I just wish they make a second one but they may never. I loved the job classes and the idea of fusion abilities. I liked how the battles went. The enemies usually wouldn't die too quickly like in other ff games so you had plenty of chances to use abilities and strategy. Really it is a very fun game and I would recommend it.

Fantastic but one bad but Great game. Story line is decent, gameplay is good. Job system is great. Enjoyed myself the whole way through. However, if they could stop the game resetting to title engender the goes to sleep or I take a call that would be great!

Good Very good. Higher difficulty. Not really gonna be for casuals though. D-Pad takes some getting used to. I recommend putting the setting on "slide".

So, so, so bad... So, after investing a few hours I had to look at the strategy online. Don't waste your money. You can't skip long, long cut scenes and have to redo the whole thing if you leave the screen. Let's not even talk about bosses that have attacks to: drain all party mp, poison all party, stun all party, slow all party, high DPS all party, curse single target. No weaknesses, all same boss, chapter 2. If you want to fight that monster, buy this game. It's full of bs like that. I want my $ back this game is retarded

Well worth playing. I don't think it's really fair to compare this game to some of the better FF titles but it is quite enjoyable and has it's unique charm. You will see familiar jobs, enemies and mechanics from other FF installments and the art is quite nice. The job system is flexible enough that you can make your parties how you want but can also dig deep and get that right combination of skills to really devastate end game. And to top it all off, there is post game content to enjoy!

Hits the sweet spot. The classic gameplay and storytelling is back, and done very well. Alba's jokes(and others here and there) catch me offguard since its unexpected... in a good way! Great job system that hits the min/max itch I have without going overboard into the realm of broken. Glad to have not passed this one up, but I only bought it because it was a total package: had you kept it episodic in purchase I would have outright refused to buy it, so keep that in mind for future games of this style. Fantastic classic Square-Enix has made many questionable choices regarding Final Fantasy. Whether it's money hungry or departing from fantasy for emotional sci-fi. This game however is a love letter for those who enjoyed the classics. The older games did not rely on graphical power or mind numbing control schemes. Instead it relied on terrific story telling and a deep customization of equipment/magic. Which this game does equally well with a few new twists. This game is worth the money but only if your a fan of old school

Really fun game I got to enjoy this game sparacticly throu out 6 months on and off on my nexus 7 tablet. The game play was great, I enjoyed the storyline and the flexibility of the characters. Most of the game wasn't too challenging. The end game hit interesting and everything came together finally.. Last boss was a nice challenge to end the game. Well enjoyed game, would recommend to anyone who wants a nice engaging game they can pick up and put down anytime, anywhere!

Can't complain. Playing on Note Edge without any issues what so ever. It's a great game with a generic story, unique characters, decent graphics and superb sound. The game itself you can easily put in 30 - 60 hours +. The difficulty is a little more challenging than your typical FF Game (which is good). Tons of weapon types, job customizations, enemies, and areas to explore. - I would highly recommend this game. 😉

It was fine Pros: Good game play with the job system and equipment, long game, rewarding side quests, reminded me a bit of FF4. Cons: The story and character individuality was quite lacking, however the game play makes up for it.

Great game Not sure how this has a bad rap. It's like a classic FF game you never played. The controls are fine, the story sucks you in, the characters are unique. If you sleep your phone using a side button it will restart the game, but you can go to resume and as long as you weren't in a big fight there really is no harm done. Having a blast with this game.

Great game This game could have easily been released in a standard console or PC setting. It's that full and engaging (took me over 50 hours with extras to finish). My only complaint is I wish it had the option to upload to cloud save like the other FF games. I lost my completed data during a device switch, not realizing the data was not on my SD card.

Absolutely phenomenal This is a classic FF. The writing is quirky and the story is great. Gameplay is what you'd expect from an old school style rpg. Head left or right... One way leads to a treasure chest, the other to the next portion of the dungeon. Auto battling is excellent for grinding. Job system is well balanced and makes for some nice replay value. Has all your classic summons and weapons, Ramuh, Ultima sword, you name it, it's here! Well done square-enix, well worth your money and time. What are you waiting for?!?

Great Game: 3 Minor Bug Fixes Played it, Beat it, Will be playing it again. But I noticed some minor things that could be fixed like when words "Should stay togeth __er it looks something like how I just wro __te this". The default characters name shows up instead of the name you choose it to be. Descriptions aren't always accurate on Abilities, Skills, Weapons, Armor, Ect. Anyway Game DEV's could you take a look at these things and fix them please. Also mastering all jobs should give you more of a reward then 2 more slots in jobless

Horrible company. I'm sick of Squenix's constant whoring of old games, and horrible DRM requiring a network connection. Not to mention how slow they are at updating their Android games. AND we still don't have War of the Lions in English on Android.

An attempt at a classic that falls short. Overall, this is a fun game for anyone who enjoys a classic turn-based RPG, but it also feels hollow the further I get in the game, where the story starts to take a back seat to generic mechanics like dungeon exploration, level-grinding, and obtaining new summons. The characters get very little development and multiple of them are cliched beyond tolerance. But I loves me a new turn-based RPG, so it still gets 4 stars (5 if the story was better).

Awesome!!! Love this game!!! I have had so much fun with FF Dimensions. Well worth the price! If you loved the old school adventures, take the time to enjoy FF with some awesome modern mechanics! You will not regret it!
