This is a great app for mapping the cell signal on my property. I'm installing a private cell repeater and needed to find the optimal location and the best tower to point the yagi towards. All that worked perfectly, however, I have been using this app for several weeks and do speed tests all the time in areas that show no previous mapping but my results never show up on the map. Kinda sucks that you can't see the fruit of your labor. I really don't know if my efforts are doing any good.
Cell ids are wrong. Compass shows I am connected to tower but cell ID is shown at a different tower. Checked with other apps ... the compass indicator seems to be correct but cell ID is incorrect. Bad fault. Uninstalled.
This app provide indications that are total nonsense, towers in the middle of a lake or in open farmers fields, etc. I tried it in different locations up to 300 miles away. Same crazy senseless results. Then I used Network Locations and finally got accurate information and wonderfully displayed. Goodby Open Signal. You sure had me confused!
Works great as a quick reference to check cell coverage and to run speed tests. Tower map is a little iffy, shows some where you can see there are none. Also needs a way you can lock the carrier in the map view, being forced to view all carriers at once is a bit pointless.
Was fav app, till MM update. Now force-closes on start. Changing permissions changes time before crash, up to about 5-6 sec with all allowed. Hope is compatible again soon, others just not doin' it 4 me.
I downloaded this app because my cell provider kept saying the problem was my phone. Thank you for solving that argument!
Trying out Firebase -- not much changed in the UI yet, but this will help us run AB tests.
