The Startel Secure Messaging Plus application is a safe and effective way to send and receive HIPAA compliant text messages.

Message content and attachments are encrypted on servers and on devices, and in transmission.
Fully configurable, senders are in complete control of determining the length of message life within a maximum 30 day period.

Selected features include: expiring messages, voice/image attachment capability, remote wipe capability and device receipt notifications.

Horrible app. Unreliable! Pros: You can do mass deletion. Previous version you had up go into each message to delete. You can customize notification tone. Has one touch reply. Phone calls can be made right from the message received. Cons: Messages come through late. doesn't matter if you're on WiFi. This app will notify you then spend up to a hour downloading information. You can no longer highlight a message and share it to a maps app. Best feature of the old version now gone. So many cons

The new user interface is terrible. Who thought of creating a blue background and slightly different blue phone number displayed. This makes it quite difficult to see the phone number. Also they made the timestamp tiny. You need a magnifying glass to read what time and date The text was sent. I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone and I wouldn't use it if I didn't have to

At least half the messages aren't coming through. I've had to restart my phone at least 10x today because that's the only way the actual message will come through after I receive notification of a new SMS. I have tried refreshing, leaving the app and going back, uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works except restarting my phone. This app's performance today during a busy cold and flu season was truly remarkable. Unfortunately it will probably be more of the same tomorrow.
