About this app

StudyLumen Child is the supervised-device companion app for Android devices managed by an authorized supervisor through StudyLumen Parent.

Install this app on the Android device you want to supervise after setup begins in StudyLumen Parent. Pairing is completed with a QR code or manual token provided by the authorized supervisor.

StudyLumen Child supports:
- supervisor-managed app blocking
- website filtering with an on-device local VPN
- guided setup for notifications, Notification Access, Usage Access, and other required Android permissions
- visible ongoing supervision notifications while supervision is active
- readable status and recovery steps when permissions, policy sync, or connectivity need attention

Important:
- this app is intended for Android devices enrolled for supervision
- setup and supervision require an active StudyLumen Parent account
- supervised-device enrollment does not complete until the supervisor account is verified
- some protections rely on Android permissions such as Usage Access, notifications, Notification Access, camera access for QR scanning, display over other apps, and local VPN consent for website filtering
- Notification Access is used only to pause active media during a block; StudyLumen does not read notification content
