Great app, but they need to hire me Love this app but most of the time the predictions are pretty bad. I went to creek today and it said 1-2 occasional 3. Now it was 2-4 and really good conditions likke the "Journey" good. I go to creek almost everyday so I think they should just hire me because I'm already down there and I know wind directions and stuff.
Was this ever tested? How was video tear down tested? The app has chewed up 95 pct of my bandwidth in less than a month and I have no idea why; I was not watching video for that long. This has incurred overage fees now that I must pay my provider. Ugh. Test your apps people!!!
App is a bandwidth hog. Not sure why, but looking at my bandwidth usage, it said as of December 5 (just in the morning mind you) the Surfline app used 3 GB of data. I had no video playing and the app was not even in use as I was actually surfing. Clearly the app is running bandwidth intensive actions even when not in use. The app was only on the location selection screen. Be sure to always have the app off and closed when not in use. Not great if you don't have unlimited data.
UPDATE: 11/17/2016 - App is broken after update. After logging into my account , I'm asked to add favorites to get started. Once added, nothing happens. No way to move forward to actual information. Between this and the constant issues through a regular browser, I think it's time to cancel the membership. I can count on this app to be "unable to retrieve data from the server." I get that message 95% of the time I open the app. On the rare times that the app does open a report, the cam is usually not work
For about a week, all of the camera shots of all of the surf spots are the. same shots morning, noon and night, day after day. Why can't you fix it?
Did like it... Latest update wants access to browsing and all app history. WHY?
This update addresses an edge case where the app can continue to stream video unexpectedly.
