Nagish is a free app for people with hearing loss that provides real-time captions on phone calls and in-person conversations.

FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS ANYONE BUT REGISTERED USERS WITH HEARING LOSS FROM USING INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP) CAPTIONED TELEPHONES WITH THE CAPTIONS TURNED ON. There is a cost for each minute of captions generated, paid from a federally administered fund.

Ratings and reviews

All I need is a simple app that can caption live calls without being forced to change my phone number or confuse people with multiple phone numbers. My carrier isn't listed under the option to forward, and I'm simply too exhausted to read the essay from tech support explaining how "easy" it might be to set up. You know what's easier? having a speech-to-text app on an auxiliary device and only having one phone number.

I'm canceling because shortly after enrolling, I was receiving numerous SPAM calls daily from all over the United States (at least that was what the Caller ID presented). It has slowed down slightly. There is very little doubt in my mind that my phone number was sold. I called a few phone numbers to verify legitimately. Most were from cloned numbers that were either out of service or discontinued. I only provided my Nagish phone number to one person and I know she didn't pass it to anyone.

Generally helpful, but some things work, while others don't. Examples: during calls, I can watch text, which works fine, but I can barely hear audio through my bluetooth-connected hearing aids even though audio comes booming through my headphones. I just have to keep tinkering, I guess.
