About this app

Phone calls. Finally accessible.

Nagish gives deaf and hard-of-hearing people real-time captions on every phone call — private, accurate, and completely free.

MAKE AND RECEIVE ANY CALL
Use your existing phone number. Nagish works like your native phone app, with live captions appearing as you speak. No interpreters. No relay services. No one else listening in.

LIVE CAPTIONS FOR REAL LIFE
Beyond calls, Nagish Live transcribes in-person conversations instantly — at doctor's appointments, lectures, airports, and anywhere else you might have trouble hearing.

YOUR PRIVACY IS PROTECTED
Captions are generated with end-to-end encryption and without any human involvement. No one reads your calls but you.

BUILT FOR THE DEAF COMMUNITY, BY THE DEAF COMMUNITY
Nagish was built with direct input from the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Every feature exists because it was needed.

FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS ANYONE BUT REGISTERED USERS WITH HEARING LOSS FROM USING INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP) CAPTIONED TELEPHONES WITH THE CAPTIONS TURNED ON. There is a cost for each minute of captions generated, paid from a federally administered fund.
There are also eligibility requirements and a cost, paid by a federally administered fund for each minute of IP Relay service.
Emergency calling through Nagish works similar to, but not the same as, calling 911 directly through a landline. It is important to keep your Nagish Registered Location updated.

All I need is a simple app that can caption live calls without being forced to change my phone number or confuse people with multiple phone numbers. My carrier isn't listed under the option to forward, and I'm simply too exhausted to read the essay from tech support explaining how "easy" it might be to set up. You know what's easier? having a speech-to-text app on an auxiliary device and only having one phone number.

I'm canceling because shortly after enrolling, I was receiving numerous SPAM calls daily from all over the United States (at least that was what the Caller ID presented). It has slowed down slightly. There is very little doubt in my mind that my phone number was sold. I called a few phone numbers to verify legitimately. Most were from cloned numbers that were either out of service or discontinued. I only provided my Nagish phone number to one person and I know she didn't pass it to anyone.

Failed forwarding verification error always even though I disabled pott forwarding on my phone for a while and then turned it back on and a toast notification said forwarding was registered. The call it tests with came through rang a second or so and then disappeared. I would go on but I'd rather just wait to hear if the developers or staff reply to this and help.
