Haunted Grandfather Clock

About this app

At midnight on Halloween an old grandfather clock ticks in a dark, haunted house. Its ivory enamel is cracked and stained, its brass bezel tarnished, and cobwebs hang from the carved black wood around it.

A real clock dial
- Roman numerals I to XII and a full track of sixty minute marks.
- Blued-steel hour and minute hands and a ticking seconds hand, their tips glowing in the colour you choose.
- An arched moon window where a painted skull-moon rises and sets through the lunar month, full on Halloween.
- A date window, and the time in painted numerals in the maker's cartouche; the hour follows your watch's 12- or 24-hour setting.
- Choose hands and numerals, hands only, or large painted numerals only.

Your information is on the subdials
Your steps are on the left subdial, your battery on the right one, with a needle that points to the charge, and your unread notifications on the lower one.

What moves
- Each minute the minute hand jumps with a small shudder, and the candle's reflection flickers on the glass.
- On the hour the clock strikes, trembling with each stroke, a pale face looms in the reflection on the glass, and dust sifts down.
- Tap the upper dial and a spider drops on its thread, hangs, and climbs back up.
- On Halloween night, from 6 pm to 6 am, the face appears every quarter hour; at midnight the hands spin backwards a full turn, and until one their glow burns blood-red.
- In always-on mode the dial goes dark with its numerals and marks in dim grey; only the hands or the numerals, the date, your steps and your battery stay lit, to save power.

Make it yours
- Time: hands and numerals, hands only, or numerals only.
- Glow: ghost green, candle gold, spirit blue or blood red.
- Seconds hand: on by default; switch it off to save a little battery.
- Spider on waking: a spider drops each time your watch wakes (off by default).
- Three complications on the subdials: steps, battery and unread notifications by default. Choose other data for any of them in the watch face editor.
