About this app

Terre-de-Haut, in Les Saintes, is less than six square kilometers off the coast of Guadeloupe. This app is your guide to the island: what to see, how to get there, and where to stay.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND HERE

• The beaches, one by one: Pompierre, Pain de Sucre, Anse Crawen, with everything you need to know before you go (access, swimming, shade, mask and snorkel).

Hikes, from Le Chameau to Fort Napoléon, with the actual duration and difficulty.

• The island itself: its history, geography, and seasons.

• Practical information: the ferry from Trois-Rivières, Pointe-à-Pitre, or Basse-Terre; the airport; how to get around once you're there; and the questions everyone asks before visiting.

• A travel guide: how long to stay, Les Saintes or Marie-Galante, visiting off-season, and a three-day trip to the island.

SLEEP ON THE ISLAND, DIRECTLY AND WITHOUT INTERMEDIARIES

Locators on Terre-de-Haut manage their own pages. You request an apartment or room for your dates, and the owner replies directly, without any intermediaries.

Nothing is paid for through the app: you pay on-site, at the establishment. The app forwards a request; it doesn't sell anything or take any payments.

THE DIRECTORY OF RESTAURANTS AND RENTALS IS BEING BUILT

The island's restaurants and car rental companies don't yet have pages in the app. In the meantime, it tells you where to look: local cuisine is concentrated in a few streets of the town center, and scooter and golf cart rentals are grouped near the ferry terminal.

IT WORKS WHEN THE NETWORK GOES DOWN

The network connection on the island is often down. Previously viewed pages remain accessible offline, which is all you need to find a ferry schedule or directions to a beach at the end of a trail.

DO YOU OWN A BUSINESS ON THE ISLAND?

Restaurants, rental companies, and accommodations in Terre-de-Haut can create their own page within the app, including their menu or fleet, hours, and photos, and receive inquiries from their customers.
