This app uses the AccessibilityService permission for optional support of making certain system functions more accessible, such as with desktop gestures. For example screen off or opening the Recent Apps screen. Nova will automatically prompt you to enable this if it is necessary for your configuration, for many cases it is not! No data is collected from the AccessibilityService, it is merely used to invoke system actions.

This app uses the Device Administrator permission for optional screen off/lock functionality.

This app uses a Notification Listener for optional badges on icons and media playback controls.

Ratings and reviews

I generally love the design options and the overall experience. Sadly, the app gets stuck several times a day, to the point where I cant open the app drawer or any apps on my home screen. All I can do is pull down the drop down menu, go to settings and reset the default launcher to the base one and then repeat that process to put it back to nova. I put up with it for a while but alas it is too annoying to keep as a permanent solution..

I love the customizability and extended features. Swipe up and down on the icon in particular is a favorite. However, that not all app shortcuts (such as those that pop up with a longpress) show up there just is very weird. As is the lack of search and strange ordering. It's as if active development has halted? There's v8 in beta since almost 2 years, what's not a great sign.

Swipes are still broken. The current version remedies the issue a bit on tablets, but it's still a nightmare to get swipe ups on folders right on small screens. Ante Edit: The last update made it even worse. Swipes are completely broken. Glad I had a backup of the previous version. But as the devs claim it's an intended feature, I think I should be looking for an alternative.
