The app suddenly plays YouTube videos with sound (content, not ads). Can't turn the sound off. Can't stop the video either, because there is an overlay menu that won't go away, which also means you can't actually see the video. App support shoots themselves in the foot with an inane email setup: They route incoming emails through a third party, which forwards them in a way that breaks the SPF record, so the emails are automatically declined. Then they respond by saying I should email them! Fail

The main reason I subscribe to online news apps is the ability to blow up text as my eyesight diminishes. CBC and BBC apps offer this in settings. And neither charges subscribers This app lacks that functionality. It is absurd to use a magnifying glass with an app. I am 68 and The Toronto Star brand is very powerful among seniors who have migrated to phone apps because we can blow up type. One more example of trad media not understanding opportunities. My subscription will be very short.

Pretty low functionality compared to other news apps. For example, you can't customize what sections display as automatically. I'd like to see international news without having to go to the pulldown menu. I'm not all that interested in TO news or the royal parasites, so being able to get those off the initial page would be great.
