Think Dirty is the easiest way to learn about the potentially toxic ingredients in your cosmetics and personal care products. It’s an independent source that allows you to compare products as you shop. Just scan the product barcode, and Think Dirty will give you easy-to-understand info on the product, track dirty ingredients, and shop for cleaner options.

• Personalized Ingredient Preferences (Premium): Save time by pre-selecting your Allergens, Ingredient preferences and personalizing your shopping experience. Ingredient alerts will be presented if we find flagged ingredients in the products you viewed.

• Search by Ingredient (Premium): Unlock to get detailed information about its usage, health impact, sources, and which products contain such ingredients.

• Search by Curated Categories (Premium Feature): Unlock to access our curated speciality lists such as Mineral Sunscreens, SLES-Free Skincare, Vegan Makeup

• Expiry Date Tracker: Is that mascara still good to use, but don't remember how long you have had it? Now you can keep track of its expiry date on your Bathroom Shelf. Enter Open Date and Shelf Life, and you will never put expired products on your face again!

I subscribed for the highest subscription offer then when I scanned something that wasn't in their database they wanted me to upload all the info and pay extra to get immediate info on the product. Or I could wait for them to get back to me which was free. So basically I'm paying this company to help them build their database. 9 times out of 10 the product doesn’t exist that I scan and I have to supply all the info. I canceled the subscription so it doesn't renew after a year.

I first downloaded the app a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It was easy to look up basic products and get an idea of the impact the ingredient list could have. It has been disappointing to see basic features be removed and placed in the subscription service. It would have been understandable if this had begun from its inception; however, it is disappointing to see long time/initial users monetized to use basic parts, like the search bar, of the app.

I love the concept of this app, and for the products that ARE in their database, it works great, but they are missing a lot. Only maybe 1/3 of my bathroom products came back with results, and honestly those were mostly the ones I already knew were safe. I think they should have an additional search bar for ingredient names as well, that way when something comes back with no results, I can at least search the names of the ingredients I don't know or sound suspicious to me.

Ingredient Functions have arrived, with updates to keep everything running smoothly. Search got smarter too — keyword suggestions now include categories for quicker, more accurate results. We also tackled some pesky bugs and polished performance so your experience is faster and more reliable.
