About this app

This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. It generates sound therapy based on published scientific research. Consult an audiologist or ENT physician for any hearing concerns. Use at your own risk.

WHAT IT DOES
TinnitusTherapy creates personalized sound therapy shaped to your unique hearing profile. It calibrates your hearing at 10 audiometric frequencies per ear, then generates therapy audio that targets your specific hearing loss pattern — the frequencies where your brain needs stimulation most.

HOW IT WORKS
Tinnitus research shows that when cochlear hair cells are damaged, the brain compensates by increasing neural gain in affected frequency regions — producing phantom sound. Sound therapy provides structured acoustic input to those regions, helping the brain recalibrate.
TinnitusTherapy shapes broadband noise using your calibrated hearing profile, with amplitude modulation based on the University of Regensburg research protocol. The therapy is designed to play alongside podcasts, music, or other audio at barely audible levels for 2–5 hours daily.

FEATURES
• Personal hearing calibration: 10 frequencies per ear, precise 3 dB steps
• 4 therapy modes: AM Noise (recommended), Noise, Sweep, Random
• Profile-shaped audio: therapy targets your hearing loss frequencies
• Safe by design: 50 dB per-frequency gain cap based on WHO/NIOSH guidelines
• Background playback: plays alongside podcasts and music without interference
• Session tracking: daily usage, streaks, and progress statistics
• Daily target and reminder: set your therapy goal and get notified
• Headphone safety: auto-stops when earbuds disconnect
• Research info: in-app explanations of tinnitus types, therapy modes, and published studies

BEST FOR
• Hissing, static, or broadband tinnitus (well suited)
• Tonal ringing tinnitus (likely helpful)
• Buzzing or electrical tinnitus (likely helpful)
NOT suitable for pulsatile tinnitus (rhythmic whooshing matching heartbeat) — that requires medical evaluation.
