Stick Shift Practice is a 2D manual transmission simulator for getting the feel of clutch, gas and gears. Hold the clutch with one thumb, slide the lever through an H pattern and bring the clutch up through the half-clutch zone. Let it up too fast and the engine stalls, and the app tells you why.
Three cars
• Compact hatchback – Light four-cylinder: quick to rev, forgiving at idle
• Comfort sedan – Smooth six-cylinder: needs a touch of gas to pull away
• Heavy pickup – Diesel with a big flywheel: low revs, heavy to get moving
Five missions
• Pull away – Start the engine, select 1st and pull away smoothly up to 12 km/h (7 mph).
• Up through the gears – Pull away and shift 1st, 2nd, 3rd up to 35 km/h (22 mph).
• Hill start – On an 8 % slope with the handbrake on, move off without rolling back and climb 10 m.
• Stop and go – Rolling at 20 km/h (12 mph) in 2nd: stop without stalling, then pull away again.
• Reverse – Select reverse, back up 6 m slowly (under 8 km/h, 5 mph) and stop.
How it works
• Three pedals work at the same time: clutch, brake and gas, with a bar that shows the half-clutch zone.
• A six-speed H-pattern lever with reverse. Move it without the clutch and the gears grind.
• Handbrake, lever on the left or right, km/h or mph, a volume limit and vibration for gear changes. No special permissions.
A 2D practice simulator with simplified physics. It is not driving instruction, does not prepare you for a driving test and does not replace real lessons.
