Ratings and reviews

This is the only weather app that I trust because of, well, James Spann of course. Being able to hear alerts read out loud when I'm not even using my phone, is the most comforting feature in my opinion. Plus, I can keep up with and get alerts on family members in other states. Unlike most apps, there's no charge or subscription needed for any of it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was fine until the latest update changed the look of the notifications. Instead of showing the current temp, it now just shows an icon for the type of weather (sun for sunny, cloud for cloudy, etc.). I can just look out the window to see if it's sunny. I would rather see the temp, thanks. Now I have to pull down the notification bar to see it. Not loving that extra step.

The new version is awful! (Jan 2026) All of the controls now take up way too much screen real estate! I used to love this app when we had control over what we could see. The legend at the top can't be closed anymore. The white bar at the bottom, where you can "play" the past or future is too large and bright now. And all the things that used to be on the right, unobtrusive, are now large and very obtrusive. Please go back to the way it was before this update! You've made it worse not better!
