Got the app for the ability to ping. Not happy that I had Netsentry popping up warning me about data usage. I didn't even realize it installed with this app. I'd like to see the option disable Netsentry.
What's next, built in picture viewer? This used to be a great app until Netsentry was added. This app used to be lean simple and did a great job at simple things like ping, DNS, traceroute etc. Now it's got a bloated Netsentry daemon. If I wanted to track my data usage, I'd get an app for that.
خیلی مفید بود و بدون هیچ مشکلی اجرا شد
Netsentry ruined this once great app The option in the latest update to turn netsentry off doesn't actually turn netsentry off... If the developer is so fond of this useless and invasive feature why not remove it from Ping & DNS and release it as a separate app? I guess it's back to LANdroid until I can find a better networking app. 😤 *Update*: Even after the latest update netsentry still collects data when set to never. Uninstalling again. For good this time.
Absolutely the Best My FIRST response whenever I encounter connectivity issues is reach for Ping & DNS. Can I ping a known device on the Internet? The developer has steadily added features and enhancements which IMPROVE the app. Thanks SO much for your time and efforts in creating a GREAT tool!
Works great as a diagnostic tool. But then "net sentry" was added, which is a feature unrelated to the original feature set, was turned on by default, had no obvious way to turn it off, and used up battery. Why add this unrelated feature? Changing "Active when I am using it" to "active all the time in the background" is a fundamental change in the way the app works and should not have been done as an opt-out feature.
Fix the battery drain some people have experienced; it was caused by an errant NSD process.
Removed the default limit for 3G/4G connections for NetSentry; it should now never show any notifications unless the user put specific limits in place.
Fixed several other bugs and crashes, especially in Android 4.
