This is possibly the worst app ever from any bank on a rewards program, and CIBC does not appear to care, so I'm possibly wasting my time writing this review. I hope it prevents someone from making a decision to go with CIBC on account of their rewards program until they learn to listen to their customers. It is almost impossible to determine the value of your points in dollar terms and to be able to track how your points are earned so you can audit it for accuracy.... very dishonest.

I had a good experience with the chat service. Initially I could not understand how the miles reward, when I asked a question and also asked for an agent, the replies were prompt and to the point.

I agree with others that the old rewards program was much better. They have hired an incompetent third party now. I booked a flight and it confirmed through the app. Two days later they sent me an email that because they didn't actually book the flight the price/points went up 25%. I spent hours on their chat with being told the same thing over and over again without able to get a name of the agent. Finally they were able to get me rebooked for a flight for only a few points more, only to realize they were looking on the WRONG DATES. I had to pay 25% more for their incompetence and lose hours of my time.
