update 1/2026- the app is even worse than it was 1.5 years ago when we first got this lock. It suddenly has no notifications at all. No longer notifies of low battery, door left open, etc. You can choose from 3 useless notifications. I actually thought, wow, it's finally working, it hasn't notified me that it's jammed in a while. My husband then discovered it was unlocked with low batteries. Seriously, it doesn't get much worse.

The app itself is pretty basic and a little buggy, although the lock itself may be some of the issue. It says locked when it is unlocked and vice versa. I have a Ubolt deadbolt lock and that seems to work well. I bought a ULTRALOQ Latch 5 Fingerprint - Built-in WiFi and it is a disaster. I spent hours trying to get it connected and when it did connect a short time later no connection. Working with support was no help and just want a refund. I used to recommend U-Tec but not sure anymore

I bought the lock for the size. The apartment I live in has the deadbolt lock than internal deadbolt right above, so I needed something small. The amount of times I've had to reset this device, change the batteries, reconnect the Wi-Fi, disconnect the device and start all over, is just unacceptable. To get anything to reconnect takes hours of your day as well. I wouldn't recommend this product or the app. When it does work, having the auto lock timed is a nice feature.
