GENERAL

VehicleLog is a convenient, stand-alone (does not require GPS, a data connection or cloud storage) app for anyone wishing to keep a record of matters related to their vehicle - but is specifically designed for business people in mind who require their entries to be quick and accurate. VehicleLog provides four logbooks to track your mileage, fuel, service and expenses making this excellent for audit protection, customer billing, reimbursement purposes and tax deductions (using either the IRS Standard Mileage Rate or Actual Expenses methods).

VehicleLog uses a built-in auto-fill feature to complete and file a new trip or expense record with as few as two screen taps. Auto-fill uses the current date and the information from last trip (or expense) to the selected destination to complete the entry making VehicleLog especially useful for those that make repeat trips to the same destinations such as:

• Builders, plumbers, electricians, handyman etc. that use the same suppliers for each project and make repeat trips over the duration of a project.

• Sales-people, delivery-people, in-home tech support, personal trainers, pet-sitters, house cleaners, attorneys, in-home tutors etc. that make repeat trips supporting the same clients over a period of time.

• Restaurant and shop owners that repeatedly shop at the same suppliers.

• VehicleLog is FAST! 1) Auto-fill quickly completes and files repeat-trip and repeat-expense details with as few as two screen taps. 2) Entries to any logbook can be made with a long tap of the desktop (or app drawer) app icon – WITHOUT STARTING THE APP!

• Each logbook can track and report for multiple vehicles.

• Mileage Logbook- track mileage. VehicleLog can track multiple vehicles used for multiple businesses or other tax deductible purposes (i.e. medical, charity etc.). Mileage can be tracked and reported down to the project level.

• Fuel Logbook - track quantity and cost for most fuel types. Also calculates the fuel economy (i.e. mpg) for each type.

• Service Logbook - track service and purchases related to your vehicle (i.e. wipers, tires, oil change, battery, service, repairs etc.).

• Expense Logbook - track non-service, vehicle-related expenses (i.e. parking, tolls, registration etc.). Tracks and flags reimbursable expenses in the logbook and on expense reports indicating whether an expense is paid or unpaid.

• Using VehicleLog custom TripTypes (Mileage logbook) you can easily add, track and report mileage for multiple business's (i.e. multiple personal businesses, a personal business in addition to employment, multiple employments etc.), miles driven for multiple charitable organizations, miles to specific medical professional and locations etc. Comes pre-configured with general tax-deductible TripType identifiers for Business, Charity, Medical and Personal.

• Ensures true and accurate mileages for every trip without having to deduct non-business miles mixed with GPS-determined trip mileages or concern over GPS dropouts.

• Does not require use of a GPS, a data connection or cloud storage. VehicleLog is a standalone application.

• User customizable reports for mileage, destination, tripType, fueling, service, expenses and clients.

• Can import existing data from other apps or spreadsheet.

• Can export custom-selected data from any logbook for use by other apps or a spreadsheet.

Ratings and reviews

App is awesome for keeping track of mileage and fuel. Even multiple vehicles. You can put in service, fill ups and trip mileage. When needed it can all be lulled into a nice document that's easy to read. The developer also called me because I was having a hard time and within minutes he was on top of it and helping me get data from one phone to the other.

I found this app does what I need as simply as possible. I specifically did NOT want a GPS triggered tracking system and manually entering odometer readings at the starting and arrival points of a trip was the simplicity I was looking for. There are provisions for different vehicles, a flexible classification system down to a project level if that's what you need. I successfully exported a file to Excel which was one of my highest priorities in my search criteria. Very pleased with the app!

Fantastic app. So much better than the fancy tracking apps. Accurate, simple, effective. The tracking apps, in addition to consuming resources, can be inaccurate. And they are actually more work, since you have to go in and categorize trips (hoping none were missed). I simply reset my trip meter at the start of a business trip and log the total when done. I occasionally enter actual mileage data just for reference, but that's not needed. All I need to create IRS-compliant mileage logs!
