About this app

VILFF Recorder turns an Android phone into a recording device for the VILFF conversation analytics platform.

The app is a companion to a VILFF account: recordings are uploaded to your company workspace at portal.vilff.com, where they are transcribed and analysed. A VILFF account is required - the app has no standalone use.

GETTING STARTED
1. Install the app and open it. A pairing code appears on the screen.
2. In the VILFF portal, open Devices, choose Add device and enter the code.
3. The phone is linked to a location and is ready to record.

TWO RECORDING MODES
Auto - the app listens for speech and splits audio into separate conversations by itself. A conversation starts when speech is detected and ends after a set period of silence.
Manual - recording runs from Start to Stop and becomes one conversation, however long it lasts. Long sessions are split into parts, uploaded as each part is ready, and merged back into a single conversation on the server.

BUILT FOR EVERYDAY USE
- Works offline - recordings are stored on the device and uploaded automatically once the connection returns
- Runs in the background with an ongoing notification while recording
- Live audio level meter, so you can see the microphone is working
- Event log showing what was recorded, queued and uploaded
- Adjustable silence threshold and part length
- Light and dark themes
- Available in English, Estonian and Russian

PERMISSIONS
Microphone - to record conversations.
Notifications - to show the ongoing recording notification.
Battery optimisation exemption - recommended so that Android does not interrupt a long recording.

The app records only while recording has been started, and audio is sent only to the VILFF server configured for your organisation.
